Aged in bourbon barrels, this California Cabernet Sauvignon draws its rich flavor from charred barrels that once aged American whiskey. Tracing the legacy of distillers, this aging method masterfully balanced the essence of the Cabernet varietal with the unique character imbued by these prized barrels. The reward is a seamless wine with distinctive notes of vanilla, black cherry and dried herbs.
Pairs well with grilled or smoked red meats, pork, lamb and burgers. Best served at room temperature.

The 2020 Quarter Cut Bourbon Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon begins just as you would expect, with a rather bourbon barrel-ish aroma full of vanilla, toasty oak and also black cherry.
Taking a sip reveals a smooth Cab full of lightly sweet, dark, fruit plus vanilla and other oaky notes. If you enjoy bourbon barrel aged wines this will probably be right up your alley although this vintage goes pretty light on the bourbon notes. Quite smooth and easy to drink, this is likely to be a crowd-pleaser.
It ends with a bit of sweet lingering fruit and more barrel notes. Overall it’s pretty much just as advertised.
