Three 94-point BULK BUY Ratings in one deal! The Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah, Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Zinfandel and Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Barbera.
We don't use the term "Autobuy" lightly but when a producer has repeatedly and continuously blown us (and all of you) away with their wines, it becomes warranted. And that is just the case with Scott Harvey.
We are always more than happy to take advantage of Scott's 45+ years of experience making excellent wine in Amador County especially when we get to do it for well under $20.
And what a special spot Amador County in the Sierra Foothills is with nearly 600 acres of vines 65+ years old. That's no surprise given that winemaking here goes back to the Gold Rush of 1849.
Today we've packaged up our three favorite wines from Scott Harvey (all Perfect 10 Taste Ratings) into one, slam dunk deal. This is a 3-pack you do not want to miss.
It starts out with the savory and irresistible 2020 Syrah, aged 20 months in French oak. We haven't been able to offer this wine in a couple vintages so we're delighted to include it in today's deal. It also received 92 points from Wine Enthusiast.
From there we go to the undeniable deliciousness of the 2020 Zinfandel, aged 21 months in French oak. A perennial favorite, this is one of the most popular wines we offer. Wine Enthusiast agrees scoring the 2020 in today's offer at 93 points.
Finally, we have our favorite pizza wine and another of the most popular wines we offer, the 2020 Barbera, which is aged 20 months in French oak. Here's what one reader wrote to us after a previous offer of this wine:
Jon, Wow!! Just got my shipment of Scott Harvey Barbera yesterday. It is absolutely tremendous. Your description of it was right on. Taste for me is better than 10 if that's possible…I love this wine. When you say "bulk buy" I am going to pay more attention next time.
All three wines are normally priced at $30 but they are discounted significantly for the next day through our deal. You know what to do.
For the next day you can get 3 bottles 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Reds (1 bottle each of the Barbera, Syrah and Zinfandel) for just $XX.95 ($XX.XX/bottle). That's a SAVINGS of over $XX a bottle!
Our extremely affordable 2-day summer shipping is a flat $9.99 per order. (You'll never pay more than $9.99 shipping, no matter how many 3-packs you buy in one order.) We ship in heat protection and minimize the transit time to help keep your wine safe in the warmer weather. Orders will still ship 5-10 days after the conclusion of the offer. Read on for our full review.
This 3-pack deal is available to ship to the following states: AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI and WY. (These states are dependent on the individual licenses of the offering winery and are not representative of all our deals. Every deal can have different, sometimes more, sometimes less, states available.)

Up first we've got the 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah which is 82% Syrah from the Pam York Vineyard of Fiddletown plus 14% Zinfandel and 4% Petite Sirah. Aged 20 months in French oak, just 462 cases were produced. The wine has less than 2 g/L of residual sugar.
From the winery:
Tasting Notes: Varietal, dark color, pepper, boysenberry bramble, clove, fleshy, and extractive spicy flavors laced with firm tannins that carry through to the long soft finish.
Vineyard/Vintage Notes: Grown in the mountainous York Vineyard of Fiddletown, Amador County. This lava cap of steep rocky volcanic slopes of the Sierra-mountain terrain represents well Amador County’s ability to produce world-class Syrah. These mountain terroirs produce low yields of first-growth quality fruit.
Vintage: 2020 had an early bud break causing an early harvest with an even growing season without any heat spikes or prolonged cold spells. It produced an average-size to slightly larger than average-size crop of high-quality dark and flavorful fruit. Unlike last year, all the varieties fared well except Petite Sirah. A picture-perfect year for vines and fruit. Photos from this year will be the ones used in promotional materials for years to come.
Winemaker’s Notes: Produced in a drinkable fruit-forward and rich style. Aged 20 months in French oak cooperage to develop a well-rounded wine with firmly structured tannins for delicious drinkability.
The 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Syrah opens with a very pleasing and expressive aroma of black cherry and other dark fruit plus vanilla, cola, licorice, cedar, mint and other spice, and a touch of a meaty note.
Taking a sip reveals just a lovely Syrah with juicy, concentrated dark fruit, tons of excellent vanilla notes, well-integrated and tasty spice, licorice and more. Yummy, yum! This wine has plenty of complexity, yet is still easy drinking and delicious. It gets even better after it has some air with the lovely fruit flavors becoming almost candied in this very dry wine.
It ends dry and very, very long and savory with lots of lingering spice and vanilla. The spice in particular seems to build and build through the mid-palate and lasts forever on the finish. I love it.
It's amazingly good for how young it is and while it should have quite a future ahead of it, it's almost irresistible now so good luck saving some for the future! It was just as good on day 2.
2020 SCOTT HARVEY MOUNTAIN SELECTION SYRAH
Next we've got the 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Zinfandel which is 97% Zinfandel and 3% Petite Sirah coming from the following vineyards in Amador County: 52% Bowman Vineyard, 42% Bray Vineyard, 5% Spinetta Vineyard and 1% Manby Vineyard. Aged 21 months in French oak, 1,275 cases were produced.
From the winery:
Vineyard: Amador County is extremely well suited to Zinfandel. Zinfandel has been grown in the Amador County Gold Rush area for over 150 years. These old head pruned dryland farmed vineyards produce low yields of extractive flavorful Zinfandel.
Tasting Notes: Fruit forward, rich full flavors expressing both the varietal and the Amador Terroir. This complex spicy wine has notes of bright raspberry, dark fruit, briary Zinfandel character with a fresh finish.
The 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Zinfandel begins with a wonderful, big, very spicy aroma of cherry, raspberry, vanilla, tons of licorice and more. It's quite inviting, and it gains even more complexity as it has time in the glass.
Tasting reveals plenty of spicy fruit and licorice to go along with candied cherry flavors in this balanced and delicious wine. I almost want to describe it as liquid candy but that doesn't really fit since this is a very dry wine with less than 2 grams per liter of residual sugar. It is; however, extremely flavorful and also quite smooth.
And while previous iterations of this wine needed some time to breathe, this vintage is very balanced and harmonious right from get-go, although it still somehow gets even better with some air.
It ends dry and slightly grippy with tons of lasting fruit, licorice and spice and even a bit of a mineral edge. It's fantastic and it was just as good on day 2.
2020 SCOTT HARVEY MOUNTAIN SELECTION ZINFANDEL
And finally we've got the 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Barbera which is which is 79% Barbera, 17% Zinfandel and 4% Syrah from 5 different vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County. The wine is aged for 20 months in French oak and 2,059 cases were produced.
From the winery:
Produced in the Italian, old world food friendly style.
Dark color, red fruit of currents, white pepper, violets, oregano, coffee and grilled steak lead to an extractive fleshy structure with firm tannin and a long lingering finish.
The 2020 Scott Harvey Mountain Selection Barbera compares favorably to the 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintages we previously offered. It opens with jammy black cherry, lots of blackberry, raspberry, a little cola, touches of vanilla and baking spice and even a bit of a brambly note. It's quite lovely and very aromatic and only gets more so with time in the glass.
Tasting unleashes plenty of juicy, fruity deliciousness in your mouth as you are accustomed to with this wine, but perhaps offers a bit better balance than those previous vintages. Featuring well-integrated baking spice notes, there are also notes of candied cherry and blackberry although the wine has almost no residual sugar (less than 2 grams per liter). This is not even close to a sweet wine, but it does have many sweet flavors.
Really smooth and with bright acidity, it is at its best after a couple hours of air and was even better on day 2.
It ends dry with long lasting sweet fruit notes. While it's totally delicious right now, it's easily got another 10-15 years of aging ability so there's really no reason not to stock up at this price. So good once again, we love this wine!
