Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir - Delightfully Fresh and Delicious

By: Jon Thorsen Published: July 5, 2019 Last Updated: May 28, 2021

Bulk Buy rated rosé from Carneros, the Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir "Eye of the Toad".

Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir - Delightfully Fresh and Delicious

100% Pinot Noir from Carneros, Sonoma County, California. This rosé is produced using the press juice from Pinot Noir grown for sparkling wine and is fermented in stainless steel. It has less than 1 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir has an SRP of $14, but is available for as low as $12. 5,000 cases produced.

    From the bottle:

Aromas of raspberries and rose petals lead to ripe watermelon and beautiful wild strawberry flavors with bright crisp acidity.

Pairs well with grilled salmon, spicy dishes, roasted poultry and even hot buffalo wings. Very versatile! Serve chilled.

Charmingly fresh. Made with grapes primarily from the Carneros region of Sonoma County, esteemed for its Pinot Noir fruit.

A true French-style, bone dry, elegant Rosé from Pinot Noir grapes. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve bright fruit characteristics.

    11.5% Alcohol

The 2018 Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir begins with pleasing aromas of strawberry, red cherry and watermelon with hints of flowers and spice. And while it smells nice, it tastes even better. Taking a sip reveals a delightfully fresh and delicious light-bodied wine. It features similar flavors to the nose but the watermelon takes center stage along with some peach and some good crisp acidity. It's certainly dry but it still has plenty of fruit. Salty minerality and touches of grapefruit lead into the long, dry finish.
