The 2018 Toad Hollow Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir begins with pleasing aromas of strawberry, red cherry and watermelon with hints of flowers and spice. And while it smells nice, it tastes even better. Taking a sip reveals a delightfully fresh and delicious light-bodied wine. It features similar flavors to the nose but the watermelon takes center stage along with some peach and some good crisp acidity. It’s certainly dry but it still has plenty of fruit. Salty minerality and touches of grapefruit lead into the long, dry finish.
