The 2019 Toad Hollow Merlot begins with a pleasing aroma of ripe plum and blackberry plus plenty oak influence mostly in the form of vanilla, chocolate and spice.
Taking a sip reveals a smooth and soft Merlot with plenty of juicy, concentrated dark fruit. The oak influence also continues in the mouth with loads more vanilla and chocolate plus an assortment of baking spice. With good structure this is a super drinkable, all-around wine.
It ends dry with some lingering oaky spice and even more vanilla and chocolate under the lasting fruit. This is downright tasty!
