From the bottle:
Settled in 1842, Langmeil was the name given to one of the earliest German villages in the Barossa Valley. This name translates as ‘Long Mile’, which represents the distance from our historic winery site to the Langmeil church and what it means to commit oneself to a life of wine.
Langmeil Winery respectfully acknowledges the Kaurna, Ngadjuri and Peramangk people, past, present and future, the traditional custodians of the land on which we grow and make our wines.
The Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food, wine and community for six generations and their continued drive for excellence in wine and community is unwavering.

The 2022 Langmeil Long Mile Shiraz opens with a pretty classic aroma for Australian Shiraz. There’s lots of ripe dark fruit, a little white pepper and a bit of a earthy, meaty note along with touches of spice, flowers and black licorice with some time in a glass. It’s a strong, enticing start.
Taking a sip reveals a rich, juicy and savory wine featuring all the same flavors as the nose. Smooth and medium to full-bodied this is really yummy stuff especially after a couple hours of air.
It ends dry, long and savory and was even better on day 2 where it was smoother and even more harmonious. This is delicious!
