The 2018 Ty Caton Upper Bench Merlot begins with a strong, enticing aroma of dark fruit, licorice and cola plus nice touches of spice and a bit of a violet floral note. It's a great start.
Tasting reveals a rich, dense, flavorful Merlot with a soft, round, silky smooth mouthfeel. Loaded with dark fruit and plenty of licorice and spice this is a fun one to drink!
It ends dry and long with lots of dark fruit plus touches of dark chocolate, vanilla and spice. It's really good after a few hours of air and holds up just fine on day 2.
