100% Tempranillo from vineyards at 1,485 feet of elevation in the Alta and Alavesa areas of Rioja, Spain.
The wine spends 20 months in 225L French and American oak barriques plus another 20 months in bottle before release. It has 3.7 g/L of residual sugar.

2018 Vina Bujanda Rioja Reserva
Viña Bujanda Reserva, made of 100% Tempranillo, comes from Rioja Alta and Alavesa areas. Grapes are grown in clay and harvested during the first week of October. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days and aged in oak for 20 months before it is ready to enjoy. The resulting wine shows intense complexity and great aging potential.
TASTING NOTES: Deep purple with garnet highlights, this wine shows deep, spicy aromas of blueberries, leather, mocha, and cacao. On the palate, it shows round tannins, crisp acidity, and balanced body.

The 2018 Vina Bujanda Rioja Reserva opens with pleasing aromas of black cherry, sweet spice, a touch of mocha, a little baking spice and a hint of an iron-like mineral note. It’s a very nice start.
The wine tastes smooth, juicy and balanced. It might be a bit simpler in the mouth than the nose suggests but it still has good complexity and is very easy to drink.
It ends dry, smooth, juicy and even a bit savory on the very long and lasting finish and was at least as good, if not slightly better, on day 2.
