This wine has been a reliable pick for the Pinot Noir lovers for the past several vintages, so today we check out the latest to see if that trend continues.
The 2019 William Wright Pinot Noir begins with a pleasing and very earthy aroma of strawberry, tomato plant, rhubarb, leather, cola and and hints of mint. You can tell right away that this is going to be a good one for people who enjoy a lot of earthiness in their wine.
Taking a sip reveals a medium-bodied, smooth, simple but satisfying wine full of cola, juicy strawberry, black tea and mint. It's a pretty classic earthy Pinot Noir with absolutely nothing not to like at this low price (if you enjoy the earthiness).
It ends with a dry, medium-long finish of lingering cola, licorice, a touch of smoke and (you guessed it) more earthiness.
We didn't find this vintage to be quite as good as the 2018, but it's still definitely a worthy buy for just 10 bucks.
