The owl is a guardian of the vine, and myths say it is present when the spirit is set free. Our winemaking style is also Uncaged and takes us to California's coastal and valley vineyards in pursuit of creating wines that offer big and bold flavors yet finish with uncommon finesse. With each vintage there is a pure connection to the land that we are proud to share every time a bottle is opened.

The 2017 Z. Alexander Brown Uncaged Cabernet Sauvignon opens with an attractive and downright succulent aroma of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, chocolate and vanilla. Tasting the wine reveals good balance, lots of delicious fruit and more licorice but the best part is the buttery smooth, creamy mouthfeel of this full-bodied wine. It ends dry, long and slightly grippy and features lots of lingering cola, vanilla and chocolate notes under the lasting fruit.
This is just a really nice, flavorful Cab without the crazy price you sometimes find in California.
