The 2022 Zuccardi Poligonos Paraje Altamira Malbec opens with a wonderful aroma of blackberry, tobacco, violets, black pepper, some leafy herbal notes and more. There’s a lots going on and none of it is from oak since this wine is aged in concrete. It’s a great start.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be fresh and smooth with similar flavors to the nose. Featuring nice depth, juicy acidity and good balance, there is a lot to like here.
It ends dry and just a touch grippy on the long finish and was just as good on day 2. This is really pleasing!
