The 2021 Bar Dog California Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a pleasing aroma of black cherry, a little spice, a little vanilla, a little cocoa and a little cedar. It's a promising start.
Taking a sip reveals this to be a pretty tasty, well rounded, medium to full-bodied Cab with a smooth, plush mouthfeel. I didn't pick up on much sweetness, which I thought I would at 6 g/L of residual sugar.
I can't say that's there's really anything extraordinary about it but with good balance and structure, this is very drinkable, especially for the low price.
It ends dry and long and was pretty similar on day 2.
