The 2021 growing season in Washington brought some of the warmest summer temperatures on record, and ultimately, a promising vintage with exceptional quality and flavors. Soaring vineyard temperatures were part of a 10-day heat streak in early summer, which, on the upside, helped prevent any disease from permeating the vines. Fortunately our vineyard teams and management practices beat the heat and evaded damage. Veraison commenced in all our estate vineyards a few days ahead of last year. A modest yield of smaller, beautifully ripe fruit was the theme across our Washington estates.
Beautifully peach in color, the wine has aromatics of rose pedal and pink grapefruit that lead to flavors of wet stone, cranberry sauce and citrus. The wine finishes with minerality and key lime. This is a great wine to chill down and enjoy while gardening, sitting on the patio and watching the grass grow or just enjoying reading a book under a tree. It will pair well with steamer clams, vegetable plates (raw), hard cheeses and most cured meats.

The 2021 Browne Family Vineyards Bitner Estate Grenache Rosé opens with a very attractive and enticing aroma of strawberry, watermelon, pear and even a little bit of a salty mineral note. It's a wonderful start.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be light bodied but not light on flavor. In fact, this is rich and fantastically flavorful as well as perfectly refreshing. It features similar flavors to the nose with continued minerality in the mouth.
The fruit turns a bit more tart when leading into the very long, dry, savory, satisfying, crisp, lip-smacking finish. It's a good thing it's only 12.5% alcohol because this is highly quaffable stuff!
