Well today, we've got another one for you. This estate bottled Sangiovese comes from the Hopland Ranches, Bliss, Feliz and Contento vineyards of Brutocao Family Vineyards in Mendocino, California. Just 350 cases of this beauty were produced. The wine spends 18 months in 90% French and 10% American oak, 25% of which was new and has less than 3 g/L of residual sugar.
The Brutocao Sangiovese has an SRP of $28 and is typically only available from the winery at that price.

Sangiovese or "blood of Jove" has long been an integral part of our Italian varietal wines. Displaying plum, strawberry and blueberry, our Estate Sangiovese has a spicy mid-palate and delivers a rich earthy spice finish. 350 cases produced.

Wow, the 2015 Brutocao Cellars Sangiovese has just a lovely fragrant aroma. Full of licorice, lots of savory spice and herbal notes, cherry, ripe plum and much more, I absolutely love the nose on this one.
And the lovely aroma is just the start, taking a sip reveals tons of lovely candied cherry fruit laced with wonderful spice notes. Yummy, yum, yum, this is delicious Sangiovese! With great balance, this is just a pleasure to drink. Add in excellent acidity and this one will go wonderful with all kinds of foods as well.
It ends dry, very long and savory. Are you sure this is from California? A perfect 10!
