The AROLDI Family has been cultivating the vines of Château des Rochers for three generations.
On the vineyard in AOC, Côtes de Castillon renamed Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, our vines are installed on 14 ha in Belvès de Castillon and Saint Philippe d'Aiguilhe. These villages are located on the clay-limestone hills extending those of Saint Emilion.

The 2018 Chateau des Rochers Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux opens with a pleasing aroma of dark fruit and spice plus a little vanilla, cola and licorice.
Upon first pop and pour it's apparent the wine is quite young at this point. It's very oaky and rather tannic even after being open for a couple hours but eventually it does opens up so have patience!
Dark fruit, well-integrated spice and a little tobacco combine quite well with that round, smooth Merlot mouthfeel on this wine. You don't normally age a $6.99 wine, but you definitely should with this one -- or at least give it several hours to breathe if you drink it now.
It ends dry and long and was slightly better on day two.
