Today's wine comes from Cult Wine Company, the same producer as our very popular, crazy good Cult California Cabernet offer that has been a best-seller both times it ran. This time; however, we take things up even another half step with a wine that comes entirely from Lodi (versus several different sources in the California Cab).
Today's Cabernet is aged for 20 months in a combination of French and American oak (the California bottling was aged 18 months) and less than 6,000 cases were produced.
This bottling received 90 points from both Wine Enthusiast and Anthony Dias Blue.

The 2017 Cult Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Petite Sirah and 2% Merlot.
From the winery:
This wine is entirely fruit from our Lodi vineyards. We are a very small producer and offered a small amount of the Lodi production to sell for this offering. Unfortunately for many wineries, good cabernet fruit is hard to find. We only use fruit for the Lodi CULT from our friends and family.
The Lodi bottling has aged for 20 months and we used a combination of French and American Oak (CA was aged 18 months). Much less American oak than the 2016 or 2017 CULT CA.
The Lodi is deep red with much more brambly fruit. That really means that it has a more intense dark fruit profile. I real enjoy it more that the CA bottling because the oak is more integrated and the fruit is richer. It drinks very easy and has about .5% less alcohol.

The 2017 Cult Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a very attractive aroma of baking spice, cinnamon, mint, vanilla, leather, dark fruit and more.
This is a smooth and savory Cab that is almost too easy to drink. Tasting the wine shows plenty of oak influence but it's very well done. We found it to be medium to full bodied, slightly tannic and quite delicious. Nicely balanced once it has a little time to open up, we liked it a lot.
It ends dry with great length. This is an excellent buy at this price for a very high quality Cabernet. Oh and it's just as good on day 2 but there's little chance it will make it that long after you take the first sip.
