Wouldn't you like to be a pepper too? The Elevation 1250 Red Wine, an oaky, peppery find from Trader Joe's.
A red blend of undisclosed varieties from Paso Robles, California.
The Elevation 1250 is available exclusively at Trader Joe's and sells for just $7.99. It is made by the Riboli Family of Wines who you may be familiar with from the excellent San Simeon line of wines and also the San Antonio Winery Tres Pinos from Trader Joe's.
On our family's estate vineyards, we grow our grapes at the highest elevations. The warm days and cool nights of Paso Robles are the ideal climate to produce our Elevation 1250' blend. Rich and plush, this is a true winemaker's blend. Enjoy!

The 2017 Elevation 1250 Paso Robles Red Wine begins with a strong aroma full of spicy dark fruit plus cola, pepper, licorice and more.
Taking a sip reveals loads of vanilla, in fact this wine is overloaded with oak influence. It's savory but wow, it has tons of oaky peppery spice, vanilla and more so make sure this is what you want before you break into it! If I was tasting it blind I would have guessed it was aged in bourbon barrels.
It ends dry, with good length and lots of lingering oaky spice. Overall, it's a bit one dimensional but still good for what it is, which is a bit reminiscent of Dr. Pepper!
