Elicio Grenache-Merlot – Easy-Going

By: Jon Thorsen Last Updated: January 14, 2019

Sit back, relax and enjoy the Elicio Grenache-Merlot.

Elicio Grenache-Merlot - Easy-Going

65% Merlot and 35% Grenache from the Méditérranée appellation in the Rhone Valley, France. The wine is aged in concrete tanks for 6-8 months.

Sample submitted for review. The Elicio Grenache-Merlot is available for around $11. Imported by JP Bourgeois – Lefgroup.

From the bottle:

We use the best of our experience to produce Elicio in the south of the Rhone Valley. His fulfilling wine evokes the warm and fruity flavors of its sunny region. A young wine, packed with fresh notes of blackberry and blueberry wrapped up in a tornado of intense flavors and soft white and black spices. Round, very fruit forward, this extreme value wine can be enjoyed with your everyday meals or by itself. Elicio, simply delicious!

14% Alcohol

The 2015 Elicio Grenache-Merlot begins with a subtle yet intriguing aroma of ripe red fruit with a bit of red licorice. Tasting reveals a delicious, easy-to-drink and well-balanced wine full of fleshy red fruit (cranberry, apple, strawberry) and beautiful spice notes. The flavors develop nicely as it has more time in the glass, so be sure to give it some time to breathe. It’s much more complex than what you get on the first sip and also what you would expect at this low price. It ends dry and long with lots of lasting spice. Sit back, relax and enjoy the evolution of this tasty wine.
