Our Pinot Noir wines are rooted in the Edna Valley AVA, on the coastal margins of San Luis Obispo. Here, cool marine air fosters ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, yielding small clusters with distinct floral aromas and prevailing flavors of bright cherry and bramble. Our winemaking relies entirely upon traditional methods and is guided by a respect for the inherent quality of the fruit. We harvest in the early hours and deliver the clusters still cold and intact for careful processing. Fermentation is conducted in small lots with daily punchdowns by hand, prior to aging in a selection of neutral and once-used French oak barrels.

The 2020 vintage delivered wines with intense ripe red fruit flavors, with energy and suppleness on the palate. Careful use of French oak frames the wine without obscuring herbal scents of marjoram and black tea. Balanced in acidity and texture, this wine is a superb partner at the table that will pair well with slow-cooked pork belly, roasted duck or miso-glazed Black Cod.

The 2020 Fossil Point Edna Valley Pinot Noir begins with quite an enticing and lovely aroma of cherry, a little cranberry and some other brambly fruit plus licorice and lots of herbal notes too.

Taking a sip reveals a fresh and tasty Pinot Noir that is ready for immediate consumption. With great balance, this is a fantastic example of the variety at this price point.

It features black cherry and a little cranberry just like the nose but the flavors are nice and juicy in the mouth. There's a touch of strawberry too when tasting along with excellent streaks of well-integrated spice and continuing herbal notes.

With good acidity and a relatively smooth mouthfeel, this is definitely a daily drinker to stock up on for the Pinot lovers.

It ends dry and long with a little lingering spice. Yum, this is just a pleasure!
