From the bottle:
In so many languages Gallant means the same thing! Both noun and adverb. An incredible word to describe this wine. Grenache is brave, it is a bit of a flirt and it certainly speaks to the adventurous! A great suitor. Grown, made, aged and bottled by Stephan Basson.

The 2020 Babylon’s Peak Gallant Grenache from Basson Family Wines opens with aromas of strawberry, cherry and fruit punch.
All those same flavors are present when tasting this light to medium-bodied wine along with a touch of spice. Smooth, quite simple and easy to drink, it reminds me a bit of a simple Beaujolais and would be good chilled.
It ends dry with decent length. Good enough for $5.99!
