Kirkland Signature California Pinot Grigio Box Wine Review

Pinot Grigio from California.

Today we’re checking out the latest vintage of a classic Costco box wine, the Pinot Grigio. (You can also find our review of the Kirkland Signature Cabernet Sauvignon box wine here.)

This particular wine is not to be confused with the $4.99 Kirkland Signature Friuli Grave Pinot Grigio from Italy, which we highly recommend, and which only comes in a bottle.

Let’s see how this latest vintage of the Kirkland Signature California Pinot Grigio box fares.

The Kirkland Signature California Pinot Grigio 3L box now retails for $15.29 (up from $12.99) exclusively at Costco. Even with the price increase that puts your per bottle price equivalent at an astounding $3.82. (3 liters equals 4 750 ml bottles.)

Crisp and juicy notes of fresh pineapple and grapefruit, along with a hint of minerality on the finish.

Cellared and Packed by DC Flynt MW Selections
11.5% Alcohol

The 2024 Kirkland Signature California Pinot Grigio Box Wine opens with a fresh, pleasing aroma of pear, lemon and apple with a hint of tropical fruit and fresh baked bread.

Taking a sip reveals a smooth, soft, tasty wine with good depth on the fruit and good acidity. It features similar flavors to the nose with some lemon and more tropical fruit notes in the mouth. Fresh and fruity without being too sweet, this is quite nice. It’s a bit on the simple side, but quite refreshing.

It ends mostly dry and relatively long with lasting tart, sweet fruit on the lip-smacking finish. One note, if you keep this box in the fridge, it’s actually better when it warms up a bit. This is a great white wine for the box!

We do like the Kirkland Friuli Pinot Grigio just a touch better but at these prices you really can’t go wrong with either.
