The 2019 La Granja Red Blend Tempranillo Garnacha begins with lots of tart berry fruit on the nose.
The wine tastes smooth and uncomplicated. Not overly sweet, it features a touch of spice on the mid-palate. Given the super low price, it works.
Notes of cola and licorice lead into the dry, medium length finish. It won't blow you away but it is easy to drink and enjoyable which makes it a good pick for the low price.
And while this is one is totally fine at a price of $5.99, we've found the other La Granja wines to be a bit hit or miss. We also like the La Granja Verdejo, but we were not; however, fans of the Hi-C fruit punch from the can La Granja Rosé or the $4.99 La Granja Tempranillo. In the case of the latter, it's definitely worth the extra dollar to move up to this blend instead.
