From the bottle:

Santa Ema Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva is ruby red in color. Aromas include red fruits such as cherries and prunes intermingled with notes of menthol, tobacco and toast. The palate shows tremendous structure, with ripe tannins and a long finish. It is the perfect companion for grilled red meats, well-seasoned dishes and ripe cheeses.

The 2018 Santa Ema Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon begins with lots of red fruit on the nose along with a green, vegetal note. It also has some attractive hints of mint and spice underneath the fruit.

Taking a sip reveals similar flavors in the mouth including the green note. It’s smooth, has good depth of flavor on the fresh, juicy fruit and also features nice, light touches of spice. This is a solid Cab with not a lot of oak influence when tasting.

It ends dry and long.
