Left Coast Cellars Cali's Cuvee Pinot Noir - Smooth and Juicy

By: Jon Thorsen Published: March 19, 2019 Last Updated: May 28, 2021

Fabulous and affordable Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, the Left Coast Cellars Cali's Cuvee.

Left Coast Cellars Cali's Cuvee Pinot Noir - Smooth and Juicy

100% Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The wine was aged for 9 months in French oak -- 10% new and 90% in 2, 3, and 4 year old barrels.

Sample submitted for review. The Left Coast Estate Cali's Cuvee Pinot Noir has an SRP of $24 and is available for as low as $18. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.

    From the bottle:

Named after our left-handed daughter, our Cali's Cuveé reflects our family's passion for winemaking and a deep connection to the land where we live and farm. Our hand-tended vines grow on ancient sandstone soils, amid old growth oak forests and Jurassic era fossils. Aged in French oak and bottled on this solar powered estate, our wines are a product of the unique, sustainable ecosystem we call home.
    13.5% Alcohol

Everyone knows that the Willamette Valley makes some fabulous Pinot Noir. Unfortunately the fact that everyone knows this means it's hard to find examples under $20. Today we've got an excellent one, however, that just squeaks in a couple of dollars under our limit.

The 2015 Left Coast Cellars Cali's Cuvee Pinot Noir begins with a very pleasing aroma of plum, black cherry, spice, cola and a bit of tomato plant. It gets even better when tasting with plenty of juicy fruit, more cola and a nice earthy streak. Medium-bodied, smooth and easy to drink, this is a really tasty Pinot Noir. Some late developing spice leads into the long, dry finish featuring lingering tobacco and licorice notes.

Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.
