We continue today in our growing list of wines from Sam’s Club with a find from a great spot for Cabernet, Paso Robles. The first thing that jumps out on this one is the price, as Cabs from this area are typically priced much more than just $8. Let’s check out how it tastes.
The 2017 Member’s Mark Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon begins with pleasing aromas of black cherry and plum along with hints of vanilla and spice. Taking a sip reveals a smooth, medium to full-bodied Cab full of black cherry and plum just like the nose but quite juicy in the mouth. This is tasty, crowd-pleasing stuff. It may not be overly complex but there’s nothing not like here, especially at this price.
It ends with a dry, long and slightly chewy finish of lingering fruit and some toasty oak notes. This is pretty solid stuff for just $8.
