Today's wine comes from Bjoern Lanwer who has over 10 years experience working with some of the best wineries in France. With the Mode de Vie wines Bjoern wants to bring the French Experience to the American table. If this first wine is any indication, he's on his way.
The 2015 Mode de Vie Sommelier's White Blend begins with a really nice, inviting aroma of apple, citrus, a little orange peel and a touch of cinnamon. When tasting the wine the fruit turns a bit more tart and into the tropical range, although the apple flavors also continue. It's quite a flavorful blend that picks up some complexity from the limestone, chalky clay and schist soils it is grown in. Some nice baking spice notes and good acidity lead into the long finish featuring lasting tart fruit and cinnamon spice. This is quite an enjoyable and refreshing wine!
