This is and always has been a true rosé with the vineyard managed, the grapes harvested, and the wine made all with the goal of making the best rosé possible. It’s not one of the many imposters out there that are simply the convenient by-product of red wine production:
Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are managed specifically with the idea of rosé production in mind. Early picking dates result in naturally high levels of acidity and a bright spectrum of fruit flavours ideal for rosé style wines. Once pressed, the juice is handled as per Sauvignon Blanc, i.e. cool fermentation with aromatic yeasts to heighten the vibrant, zesty aromas and fresh mineral palate. Crucial to this style of rosé is early bottling in order to preserve the wine’s inherent freshness.
This is a great wine for rosé lovers and those just getting into this style of wine alike.

The Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coastal Region of South Africa and is dry but also has just about the perfect touch of residual sugar (4.3 g/L).
From the winery:
Colour: Lesser skin-contact time has brought about a slightly lighter rose-gold Rosé hue. Very much in vogue and extremely pleasing to the beholder.
Nose: Alluring sweet notes of peaches, strawberries, cream and candyfloss. Subtle notes of cinnamon and Cabernet herbaceousness combine perfectly to entice further investigation.
Palate: Wonderfully round and vivacious, but still exuding class! Our Rosé is elegant and full, with a very opulent creamy textural palate weight. It is both indulgent and just plain delicious.
Even with a slightly lighter colour, the charms of our Mulderbosch Rosé will always remain. Cabernet Sauvignon will always be a classy variety and we will always bring all the best of it to the fore.

And now on to our review:
The 2023 Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé begins with a very fresh and enticing aroma of strawberry, raspberry, cherry jolly rancher, a little watermelon and some really pleasant floral notes.
Tasting the medium-bodied, smooth and lively wine shows nice juicy fruit plus a little minerality with similar flavors to the nose. I could easily and happily sip this all summer!
The finish is dry and leaves long lasting hints of berries and sea salt. You can’t help but take another sip. Complex enough to keep things interesting and oh so good.
Seriously this is a wine to buy by the case — it’s absolutely perfect for sipping on a hot summer day plus it’ll pair with just about anything you throw at it. Lovely and super enjoyable!
