Costco delivers a Red Mountain Cab at an unheard of price, the North Forty-Six Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain, Washington.
Well, here's an interesting find from Costco! We could not find any info anywhere on this wine. It appears to be a Costco exclusive. The name comes from the latitude of the highly exclusive and expensive Red Mountain region in Washington where you don't often find any wine at all under $20, much less a Cabernet. The Costco price? $8.99. Let's check it out.
North Forty-Six is a supple, generous, and beautifully focused wine whose calling card is a deep purple robe and a beguiling nose of licorice, sage, berry and mineral…an exuberant wine with a long finish that lasts and lasts. The structure of this Cabernet really speaks to its mountain roots.
Cellared and Bottled By Flying Blue

The 2018 North Forty-Six Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a pleasing aroma full of ripe dark, spice and plenty of vanilla.
Tasting reveals loads of vanilla on this one in the typical Washington Cab style. It's a bit one dimensional and not super complex but that is almost made up for by all the concentrated dark fruit. Plenty of oak influence makes this pretty tasty for fans of the style. Grippy tannins lead into the dry, chewy, long and oaky finish that even features some nice mineral notes.
While it's crazy to find a Red Mountain Cab at this price what we're concerned about most at the end of the day is the value for the price and this is pretty good for just $9!
