Old Pearl has been working our sustainably farmed vineyards since she was a pup. She is a Great Pyrenees livestock guard dog and works to keep our ranch's sheep safe from predators. Over the years, she has truly become a part of our family. She is currently stationed at the home ranch where she is helping to keep the bears out of the kitchen. This wine is a tribute to her - may you enjoy this wine with your family and alongside your best dog.

The 2017 Old Pearl Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a very pleasing aroma full of ripe, dark, musty fruit plus licorice, leather, spice and some touches of dried herbs.
The ripe fruit notes continue when tasting this delicious, easy to drink wine. We really enjoyed this one, and while it's not very complex it is definitely a crowd-pleaser and at this price a very nice daily drinker. It is full of plum and blackberry fruit in the mouth plus black pepper, licorice and more. It definitely doesn't come off tasting sweet but the bit higher residual sugar probably helps increase the appeal.
It ends dry and long with a bit of lingering spice. This is doggone good!
