A cool label, but is the wine worth the cost? The soft, smooth and sweet Paso Dragon Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, California. No further info is given on the production of this wine.
This wine is available for $7.99 exclusively at Trader Joe's.
Paso Robles is one of the premier wine appellations in the world. Hidden in the hills northwest of town is Lake Nacimiento, a favorite haunt of the locals. It is nicknamed the Dragon from its natural shape when viewed from above. This wine exemplifies the same local feeling of place when you are in Paso Robles. Bold but a little bit yet undiscovered and a local favorite. Enjoy the spirit of the Dragon in every glass!

The 2020 Paso Dragon Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a jammy aroma of dark fruit and oaky spice. It's almost a bit like a bourbon barrel wine.
The wine tastes smooth, soft and quite sweet for a Cab. This one is definitely made in the highly popular slightly sweet and oaky style. In fact, I wouldn't have guessed it was a Cab, but instead a red blend. It's certainly a satisfactory pick for those who like their wines with some residual sugar but is also quite simple and lacks complexity.
It ends mostly dry, a bit grippy and with average length. This is a decent Trader Joe's find for those who like their Cab soft, smooth and sweet.
We tasted this one side by side with the Aldi Union & Branch Paso Cab and that was clearly the better wine, but it also costs almost twice as much.
