A classic, quite tasty expression of Sangiovese, the Poderi dal Nespoli Prugneto Sangiovese Superiore.
100% Sangiovese from the Bidente Valley in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. A small percentage of the wine is aged in 25hl French barrels. It has just 2.3 g/L of residual sugar.

A genuine expression of Sangiovese from Romagna. It has a bright ruby red color with an intense bouquet of fine red fruits. On the palate, the freshness pairs well with soft tannins and notes of violet, cherry and plums. The finish is long and spicy. A little percentage of the wine is aged in 25hl French barrels to enhance both complexity and structure.
Food pairings: Hand-made pasta, pigeon ravioli with rosemary in red wine sauce, roasts, grilled steak, mature cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C
Prugneto is the name of the single vineyard, which was the first vineyard bought by the Ravaioli family. Since then it is a reference for the wines from this region.
13.5% Alcohol
The 2018 Poderi dal Nespoli Prugneto Sangiovese Superiore (Romagna DOC Superiore) begins with a pleasing aroma of red and black cherry, a little leather and licorice.
Taking sip reveals a classic, quite tasty expression of Sangiovese full of fresh, tart fruit. It also features a smooth mouthfeel and soft tannins. A little bit of spice leads into the dry, long finish. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
