River Road Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – Quite A Finish

Last Updated on June 1, 2021

A tasty Cab with a fantastic finish, the River Road Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Ron Rubin Winery.

River Road Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - Quite A Finish

Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California. The wine spends 9 months in French and American oak barrels.

Sample submitted for review. The wine has an SRP of $25 but is available for as low as $17.

From the bottle:

As the largest wine region in Sonoma County, Alexander Valley is known for its cleansing morning fog and dry afternoon heat. This climate provides the perfect balance for our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which rings notes of blackberries, dark fruit and cedar.

13.9% Alcohol

The 2018 River Road Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a pleasing aroma of blackberry, black cherry, spice, cola, coffee and more.

Tasting the balanced wine shows similar flavors with well-integrated spice. The dark fruit turns juicy on the dry, grippy finish. This is a pretty tasty Cab but it does take quite a while to open up. What really clinched it for me was the wonderful, long and even a bit dusty finish.
