An under $7 crowd-pleasing Chard with a bit of butter and toasty oak, the Sienna Glen Chardonnay from Aldi.

This Chardonnay is available exclusively at Aldi and sells for just $6.99. The wine is vinted and bottled by Pacific Bay Vineyard.
Cooler climate areas and longer growing seasons within California's winegrowing regions result in a beautifully balanced Sienna Glen Chardonnay. Our winemakers take great care to let the flavors from the vineyards shine through, enhancing the wine in oak barrels to give structure and balance. Sienna Glen Chardonnay has flavors of vanilla, lemongrass, hazelnut and clove. A perfect wine to enjoy with steamed or grilled fish, chicken, vegetable terrines and pasta or risotto with spring vegetables. Serve at 60-70F.
13.5% Alcohol
Looking for a solid, basic Chardonnay that spends some time in oak but doesn't go overboard on the butter notes? (And costs less than $7?) You've come to the right place.
The 2018 Sienna Glen Chardonnay begins with pleasing aromas of pear, peach, pineapple, vanilla cream plus a little coconut, banana and clove.
Tasting the wine reveals baked apple spice and lemon cream flavors wrapped up in a nice, creamy mouthfeel. Touches of tropical fruit, vanilla and hint of butter lead into the clean, tasty finish of juicy, tart fruit with lingering touches of oaky spice.
For under $7 bucks this is a really nice, easy drinking, crowd-pleasing Chardonnay. The 2018 shows just a tad bit more butter and oak influence than the last time we reviewed it (2017) but it's still very nicely done.
