Albarino! Perhaps one of the best varieties of wine to pair with seafood, this staple of Rias Baixas (Ree-ass By-shass) in Galicia isn't just grown in Spain anymore.

Known as Alvarinho in Portugal where it is used extensively in the wines of Vinho Verde, there are also excellent examples of Albarino popping up all over the world, particularly California. We cover all of our favorites here.
With its distinctive salty minerality and highly refreshing character, this variety also pairs easily with all kinds of different foods, particularly as noted above seafood and fish.
