The 2016 Stella Montepulciano d’Abruzzo begins with pleasant aromas of ripe dark berries, black cherry, some dried herbs and some musty spice. Taking a sip reveals a super tart and darn tasty wine. It’s pretty simple really but it hits the spot. This is a great option in a box if you’re looking for a quality, dry red wine with some character, especially if you eat a lot of Italian food. It ends with lots of lasting tart berry fruit and licorice. At only 12.5% alcohol the bottle will be gone before you know it – another reason to buy it in the box!
