Stella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo - Hits The Spot!

By: Jon Thorsen Published: January 7, 2019 Last Updated: May 23, 2021

After tasting the simple but oh so satisfying Stella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo you'll be quite happy to know it's available in a 3-liter box!

Stella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo - Hits The Spot!

100% Montepulciano from Abruzzo, Italy. The wine is aged for 5 months in stainless steel and another 4 months in the bottle before release. It has less than 1 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. The Stella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo has an SRP of $10 and is available for as low as $8 for a 750ml bottle. It is also available in a 3L box. Imported by Winebow Inc. A Leonardo LoCascio Selection. 108,000 bottles produced.

    From the bottle:

Pack your bags and get ready for an adventure. Inspired by an adventurous, confident and vivacious soul, Stella Wines will take you through Italy unlocking its tastes sights and sounds. Enjoy this wine as you embark on your own new experiences, adventures and discoveries. Salute!

    - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, grown near the Adriatic Coast.
    - Dry, yet mellow, with smooth tannins and delicious aromas of berries and herbs.
    - A complement to a date night or casual evening enjoyed with Italian cheeses, pizza or red meats.

    12.5% Alcohol

The 2016 Stella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo begins with pleasant aromas of ripe dark berries, black cherry, some dried herbs and some musty spice. Taking a sip reveals a super tart and darn tasty wine. It's pretty simple really but it hits the spot. This is a great option in a box if you're looking for a quality, dry red wine with some character, especially if you eat a lot of Italian food. It ends with lots of lasting tart berry fruit and licorice. At only 12.5% alcohol the bottle will be gone before you know it - another reason to buy it in the box!
