Fresh sweet leaf tobacco and dark fruit aromas blend with notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate hints of cedar mingle with rich black currant framed by soft tannins and a balanced finish.
Pair with grilled red meats, roasted poultry, rich cream and pepper sauces, mushrooms, and earthy vegetables.
The fruit was selected from choice vineyards in Lodi, California, an appellation known for its dedicated focus on growing rich, red varietals.
Fruit was meticulously sorted, gently pressed and fermented, then spent seven months on French oak.
The 2016 Toad Hollow Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a wonderful aroma of berry fruit intermingled with spice, licorice, mint, vanilla, a touch of green olive and more. The wine tastes delicious and is filled with lots of tart and juicy dark berry fruit and more nicely integrated spice. The medium to full-bodied wine also features soft tannins, a smooth mouthfeel and great balance. The wine ends dry and long with some of the lighter touches from the nose (like mint and green olive) re-appearing as the wine lingers for a good while in the mouth. Delicious and easy to drink, this one is toadally tasty!
