Another fabulous Costco find, the Bodegas Ego Goru 18m.
80% Monastrell and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from 50 year old vines in Jumilla, Spain. The wine spends 18 months in new French and American oak barrels and is vegan friendly.
The Bodegas Ego Goru 18m has an SRP of $35; however, we found it at Costco for $15.99. It has an average price of $27 for the few other sellers out there on wine-searcher. Only 3,500 cases were produced so this is likely not available at all Costco locations. Imported by Tri-vin Imports.
Under the gaze of Goru, the best 50 years old Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are selected. Aged in new French oak barrel for 18 months, this wine is packed with sweet cherries, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. It finishes with smooth tannins and hints of bright strawberry and pear.
15% Alcohol
The 2015 Bodegas Ego Goru 18m begins with a really attractive and engaging aroma full of ripe red fruit along with balsamic, licorice, vanilla and lots of varied spices. The full-bodied wine tastes smooth and savory with lots of deep dark fruit flavors that combine wonderfully with all spice notes from the nose. Nicely tannic and with good acidity this is a meaty and delicious wine that gets even better as it has more air. It ends dry, long and grippy with lingering chocolate and vanilla.
