Adversity reveals character and that is precisely the obstacle that Chasing Rain overcomes. As Red Mountain only receives 6-8 inches of rain per year, our wine stewards have a passion and hands on approach to applying the perfect amount of irrigation to our land. This allows us to consistently produce some of the best wines the world has to offer.

The 2019 Chasing Rain Red Mountain Merlot opens with a pleasing aroma of vanilla, dark fruit and a touch of spice. It's very much in the Washington State style for Merlot and Cab, which is a good thing.
Tasting the wine reveals similar flavors to the nose with more oaky spice and licorice plus a smooth mouthfeel. It's pretty tasty example of Washington Merlot, which in general offers tons of value, although to be honest I'm not sure that it's any better than the Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Merlot that you can find for $5 less.
It ends dry, long, slightly chewy and full of oaky spice and vanilla. This one is still a bit young and will probably be at its best in another year or two.
