The Dancing Flame Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc is available exclusively at Aldi (in the US) and sells for just $9.99. The wine is produced by Vina Luis Felipe Edwards and imported by Prestige Wine & Spirits Group. This is the same producer as the Dancing Flame Red Blend (also at Aldi) and the Loma Negra Rosé from Trader Joe's.
Dancing Flame wines take their inspiration from the lava and flames that can be seen erupting from the many volcanoes that are dotted along the length of the Chilean Andes. There are over 500 active volcanoes in Chile. The Villarrica, being one of the most active, rises above the lake and town of the same name.
Chile's Leyda Valley is renowned for the premium quality of its white wines. These Sauvignon Blanc grapes grow in vineyards close to the Pacific Ocean, where the cool breezes allow the fruit to ripen gradually with greater intensity. This juicy, medium bodied white wine offers citrus fruit aromas with flavors of fresh grapefruit and a hint of lemon, with a crisp, well-balanced finish. Pair with sea bass, shellfish, white meats, Asian cuisine, fresh salads, or simply on its own. Best when served lightly chilled.

The 2018 Dancing Flame Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc begins with a very pleasing aromatic bouquet full of grassiness and a little citrus. I would have guessed it was from New Zealand going just by the aromas.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be very fresh with deep flavors of lime and tart tropical fruit. This is a very good wine with a crisp, lively and clean mouthfeel. There's not necessarily anything revolutionary here it's just a really well done Sauvignon Blanc especially if you enjoy them on the grassy side.
It ends with lots of tart fruit and lingering grassy touches on the very long finish. Highly Recommended!
