La Posta Paulucci Malbec - Truly Good

By: Jon Thorsen Published: November 13, 2018 Last Updated: June 1, 2021

The super savory La Posta Paulucci Malbec.

La Posta Paulucci Malbec - Truly Good

100% Malbec from 43 year old vines at 3,050 feet of elevation in Ugarteche, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. The wine was aged for 12 months with 10% in new French oak barrels, 70% in second and third use French oak and the remaining 20% unoaked.

Sample submitted for review. The La Posta Paulucci Malbec has an SRP of $18 and is available for as low as $12. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers. Imported by Vine Connections. 13,500 cases imported.

    From the bottle:

Angel Paulucci invites you to climb into his 1933 Model A and weave through the vineyards of Ugarteche. You'll hear of his childhood in Italy and his passion for Malbec grapes. Later, over dinner, he will fill your glass. And the air, cooled by the Andes, will melt away your worries and inspire you to find your passion.

Created by 4th generation vintner, Laura Catena.

    13.0% Alcohol

La Posta Pizzella Malbec along with the other wines in the line

Today we're featuring the second wine in the La Posta series of single-grower, single-vineyard wines from Laura Catena. And just like last time we again turn to Malbec.

The 2016 La Posta Paulucci Malbec begins with a very nice aroma of ripe plum, blackberry and pepper plus lavender, violet and mint. The wine tastes excellent with savory and juicy fruit along with gently smooth spice wrapped up in a silky texture. The primary flavors in this medium to full-bodied wine are blackberry, black cherry and plum. The best part; however, is the very long finish where the spice lingers and lingers, finally resolving into vanilla and caramel notes at the very end. Highly recommended!
