Locations OR Oregon Red Wine - Absolutely Delicious
A Bulk Buy rating on the Locations OR Oregon Red Wine!

100% Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, Oregon. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for 10 months prior to release.

The Locations OR Oregon Red Wine has an SRP of $23 and is available for as low as $14. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers. 3,000 cases produced. Imported by Locations Wines. Sample submitted for review.

    From the winery:

Naturally, our first endeavor in Oregon had to be Pinot Noir. With a climate and soil profile ideally suited to the notoriously fussy varietal, we sought out the best region - The Willamette Valley. Graceful hillside slopes, ruddy volcanic dirt, and optimal diurnal swings provided spectacular fruit come harvest. Following a gentle production phase, a long, cool fermentation took place resulting in a wine true to the varietal and consistent with the Locations objective.

    15% Alcohol

We're big fans of Locations Wines here at Reverse Wine Snob. We recently reviewed and loved the Spanish (E), the French (F) and the Argentinian (AR) red wines. And while many of the Locations Wines are unconventional blends of varieties (like the E and F), today's pick is more similar to the Argentinian version in that it concentrates on just one variety. This does not; however, diminish its deliciousness!

The Locations OR Oregon Red Wine by Dave Phinney (this being the OR-4 designation) begins with a very aromatic and very pleasant aroma of red and black cherry, strawberry, spice and some nice floral notes. Tasting the wine reveals similar flavors to the nose with perfectly integrated spice and good acidity. This is an absolutely delicious Pinot! Cola and earth notes come out mid-palate and lead into the dry, smooth and spicy finish. It shows just a touch of heat but that's not surprising given it clocks in at 15% alcohol.
