Hard to beat for the price! We review the Trader Joe’s Maison Barboulot Cinsault Rosé.
100% Cinsault rosé wine from the Pays d’Oc region in Southern France. No further information is given on how it was made.
The wine is available exclusively at Trader Joe’s and sells for just $5.99. It is imported by Plume Ridge.
We’re big fans of the Maison Barboulot Cabernet-Syrah which, vintage to vintage, offers great value for the price. As a result we were quite excited to see this rosé under the same label, especially since it is made from 100% Cinsault. Let’s check it out.

This Cinsault is selected on vineyard blocks strongly influenced by the Mediterranean sea. Refreshing breezes and morning mists contribute to its light and fresh character.
Fruit-forward, with aromas of red berries, it is lively and well-balanced.

The 2023 Maison Barboulot Cinsault Rosé begins with an inviting aroma full of fresh berries and a pleasing floral note.
Tasting reveals a delightful, refreshing example of rosé. Just like the red, it’s not terribly complex, it’s just highly satisfying. It features a smooth mouthfeel and just enough depth on the fruit. It’s flavorfully sweet but not full of sugar, which we appreciate.
It ends dry and fresh with good length. This is hard to beat for the price!
