A great example of Washington State's signature grape at a great Costco price, the Luke Merlot.

The true depth of a man's character is often unknowable, but one conversation was enough to convince me that Luke was an imitation of no one. He revealed himself slowly, like a freed wind emerging from the shadow of a mountain. Undeniably complex. Bold and determined, but unabashedly generous.

It only takes one sniff of the 2018 Luke Merlot to know that you're in for something good. It begins with an excellent aroma of ripe dark fruit, baking spice, vanilla, chocolate and more, oh my!
Taking a sip reveals delicious, ripe dark fruit flavors that go deep plus plenty of well done oak influence. Full bodied with good structure, good acidity and good balance and smooth and round in the mouth, this is a great example of Washington's signature grape.
It ends dry, very long even a bit dusty. We liked this one even a bit more than the Luke Cabernet!
