Just like the Luke Cabernet Sauvignon and Luke Merlot we previously reviewed, today we’ve got another excellent one from Luke Wines.
The 2018 Luke The Companion Red Blend begins with a fresh and intoxicating aroma of blackberry, black cherry, plum and raspberry with spice and a little vanilla as well.
The wine tastes bright and absolutely delicious. Featuring a silky smooth mouthfeel, juicy fruit flavors that last and last and a wonderful combination of fruit and spice, this is tremendously good stuff. It doesn’t usually work this way with red blends but this one really seems to take on the best of all 3 varieties.
It ends dry, a bit grippy and extremely long and it was just as good on day 2. Wonderfully balanced and just a joy to drink, this a wine to buy cases of if you can find it.
