Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir - Attractive

By: Jon Thorsen Published: June 8, 2021 Last Updated: January 31, 2023

A solid Aldi exclusive offering for just $13, the Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir.

Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir - Attractive

Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast of California.

The Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir is available exclusively at Aldi and sells for just $12.99.

    From the bottle:

Sonoma County is a geographic symphony of mountains, hills, and coastline. A sub-appellation within Sonoma County, the Sonoma Coast along the Pacific Ocean is known for its cool climate. The Peaks & Tides found along the coast create a unique microclimate perfectly suited to growing grapes such as Pinot Noir.

Our delicate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir exhibits the signature characteristics of this unique growing region, a silky wine with exquisite fragrances and luscious flavors of raspberries, strawberries, and allspice.

This wine pairs wonderfully with truffle risotto, beef tenderloin with mushrooms, or thyme and goat cheese potatoes and is best served at room temperature.

Vinted & Bottled by Peaks & Tides
    13.9% Alcohol

The 2018 Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir begins with an attractive aroma of strawberry, raspberry, spice and a touch of dried herbs.

The wine tastes smooth and features more juicy fruity than the recently reviewed William Wright Pinot Noir but still has some good earthiness and cola to it as well. Nicely balanced, this is rather surprising quality from Aldi where we've generally seen the white wines offer more value than the reds.

It ends dry, long and tasty with a nice bit of spice. It's not a super complex Pinot but just like we found with the Peaks & Tides Cabernet, it's a solid offering at this price.

2018 Peaks & Tides Pinot Noir

    Taste: 8       Cost: 6
    OVERALL RATING: 7.5
